Anything You Can Do I Can Get Censured For

Senator Elizabeth Warren stars in a revival of Annie Get Your Gun featuring the song “Anything you can do, I can do better. Anything you can do, I can get censured for.

The highlight of the show is when Warren brings into question the character of President Donald J Trump’s pick for attorney general, Senator Jeff Sessions.

“Mr. Sessions has used the awesome power of his office to chill the free exercise of the vote by black citizens in the district he now seeks to serve as a federal judge,” Warren says reading from a letter Coretta Scott King wrote to oppose Sessions for a federal judgeship in 1986.

Playing opposite Warren, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell speaking in defense of Sessions says, Warren had “impunged the motives and conduct of our colleague from Alabama.” The Senate votes on party lines barring Warren from speaking on the floor.

In beautiful supporting-role performances, her male colleagues Senators Bernie Sanders, Tom Udall, Jeff Merkley and Sherrod Brown are uninterrupted and are able to read the King letter into record.
